It all started when Jasmine was on maternity leave with her 3rd girl. Early 2016, she began to watch HGTV and fell in love with Chip and Joanna Gaines from Fixer Upper. Jasmine began to daydream what her home would look like with a change of paint color and some furniture moved around.

April of 2016, her husband turned 40 and she wanted to get him something he would love. Being on a tight budget she turned to you tube and built him a Pallet Bar for their back patio. She soon began to hunt for furniture that needed some TLC. She learned how to refinish and paint furniture from side tables to china cabinets which she later sold.

In the summer of 2016, they took her DIY obsession to the next level by knocking down a wall, adding shiplap and giving the living area a new coat of paint (repose gray, of course!) She found some antique and vintage home decor items to give her home a farmhouse style with a touch of class. In the meantime, she also wanted to create a sign with her favorite hymn, “Great is Thy Faithfulness”, so she took some left over pallet wood from the bar and made her first rustic wood sign. She was encouraged to open up an Etsy shop online which she now calls BlessedMessCo.

With over 300 sales, she had an idea in September 2016 to teach her Women’s church group to make wood signs calling it Paint the Grain! Through many months of working through the process her first class (in March 2017) of 30 women was a huge success. One of her friends stated that she was actually going to hang this on her wall, unlike the canvas paintings she’s painted in the past that hid under her bed. From that statement, Jasmine went home and began to work on a website for DIY Wood sign paint and sip events. From social media posts to people requesting to host a party she began to book parties quickly. She now uses Facebook and Instagram as her main platform to reach her customers and connect with new friends! She went from traveling to Dade, Broward and the Palm Beaches for all private events and hosting public events in her home studio to now opening a store front studio in Davie, Florida.
